I lay awake for a call I’ll never get
And a sorry you’ll never say.
Waiting for a tomorrow that may not dawn
And for the sun to find its way through the storm clouds.
I hold my breath but only thieve my lungs
Of time.
I thieve myself of time each second that I
Await an “I love you”.
I’m wide awake at 3am wondering where it all went wrong
Whilst you lay sound asleep in your cotton sheets.
I’ve never felt more alone.
